Winters End

Sunset over Burlington, Vermont

I’ll make this quick because really a photo like this doesn’t need many words and it’s almost the weekend. Let’s all get off the computers and get out of town.  I captured this sunset over the Burlington waterfront as I stepped out of a busy assignment for some fresh air and a change of scenery.  Turned out the best photo was outside, not in.  I watched this sunset from beginning to end with an audience of party-goers in celebration of winters end.  Finally.  We all get a little crazy living up here what with our long winters, grey skies and endless snow dump.  This season was particularly rough, but nights like this, dripping with color, is everything to this town.  We wait in hibernation for a beautiful sky to perk us up.  Glad I stepped out for this moment and found time to share it with a crew that truly appreciated it.  Never have I seen a community cherish their surroundings like Vermonters do.  I love this place.

Great photo. I can’t wait for the leaves to bud.
