married: Jess and Mark’s Portland, Maine wedding
I left my Green Mountains for the coast of Portland, Maine this weekend to photograph a dear old friend’s wedding. Mark and I worked together at the Burlington Free Press and when he designed my beautiful photography website a few years ago it was decided that WHEN, not if, but when the day came that he proposed to adorable Jess I’d head up the coast to photograph their big day. Done deal. When I got the phone call last year from Mark announcing the engagement I was thrilled.
Mark has always been a wonderfully talented and sharp individual. We’ve all missed him at the Free Press but I’m glad to see him wildly succeeding at his new life in Maine. I had only heard stories about Jess, all good of course, so here we were meeting for the first time with a stunning wedding dress in between us.
Off we go to the wedding! But first, let’s back up a second…
Beautiful First Parish Church provided the backdrop for this moment. An elegant, personal ceremony.
As tradition the newlyweds ring the bell at the end of their ceremony. Mark mustered all of his strength hopping up and down on the bell’s rope.
Happy father of the bride!
Congratulations you two! All the best and may you have many, many more days as wonderful as this one.
