married: Brooklyn wedding at Bubby’s
Hopped on a plane to New York City and landed at a fabulous Brooklyn wedding nestled between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, famously known as DUMBO. A large, NYC wedding was a far departure from the laid back, pastoral scenes we see at our Vermont weddings so I was anxious, excited and thrilled to find so many lovely photo vignettes tucked along the streets, bridges and waterfront by the venue, Bubby’s Brooklyn.
Justine and Eric planned a lovely day and an even more fabulous evening. This place, these people….a photographer’s dream. After their first look we strolled the waterfront and neighboring cobble stone streets for their portraits pausing at some of Justine’s favorite spots. Her eyes were on her favorite bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge. Eric’s eyes were on Justine. These two were full of energy, but lovingly calm and made for some great posed and candid moments for me.
Eric was classically handsome with a sharp suit and slicked hair. Well played, Eric.
Took another walk through the park during magic hour – absolutely perfect evening.
Traded my mountain back drops for breathtaking bridges and this over-sized archway. Striking.
Love the genuine expression on the hot dog vendor’s face and of the guests awaiting the couple’s return inside.
Justine wore a killer bird cage for the ceremony. Since these two opted for a first look, she wanted some sort of surprise for Eric when she walked down the aisle. Nice touch.
Happy Mama. Justine’s mother was beaming. Loved photographing her.
And Justine’s dad during their father/daughter dance. I love dads and their girls – this is such a proud moment.
Parting shot as the wedding came to a close. Many hours, kisses, hugs, toasts and dances later these two soaked up their blissful state while I captured this shot. Congratulations again Justine and Eric. Wishing you many, many years as wonderful as your wedding day. Thank you!
