married: Sarah and Sam’s Adirondack wedding
Sarah and Sam were married this spring at White Pine Camp in Saranac Lake, New York. Tucked in the Adirondacks, White Pine Camp was rustic yet elegant. During our walk through I was immediately excited to get shooting as a tiny tea house, boat house, beautiful long dock and wooded trails were a nice departure from the farm and lakeside weddings I’ve shot here in Vermont. Sarah and Sam knew me from my BU days though they now live in New York. The three of us share many of the same friends so when they asked if I’d consider being their wedding photographer I was thrilled. Not only did I get to spend the weekend with these kids, but a handful of my old college buddies were in attendance which made the time off the clock so much fun.
The guests were housed in small mid-Century bungalows nestled in the woods where they had access to boats and kayaks to take in the lake. Some went for a hike the morning before while others lounged on the docks. White Pine Camp was a fantastic spot for a wedding. Thought the guests were worried about the weather (so was I) I knew it made for much better light. Nice and soft. Sarah was a vision in her simple dress and she made my job so much easier. These two are unbelievably photogenic. Sam, whom I had never seen dressed up before, was so handsome and I fell in love with his glasses.
This was such a fun wedding and the perfect opportunity to test out my new gear, too! I recently swapped out my Canon gear and got all new Nikon equipment. The results were fabulous and I am thrilled with my new D700 – it passed the ultimate test.
