married: Abigail and Jim at Mass Horticultural Society at Elm Bank
These two dodged an intense series of thunderstorms and pulled off a truly beautiful wedding at the Massachusetts Horticultural Society at Elm Bank in Wellesley, Mass. With the storms came the humidity and though we skipped the rain drops, we all felt the heat. Go figure – since this was a fall wedding in New England. One final dose of summer set the tone for a gorgeous outdoor wedding complete with manicured gardens, stunning backdrops and classic architecture.
I don’t travel out of state too often for weddings. Vermont is, after all, the wedding capital of the country. But, these two came with a special connection: my photographer friend Ian. A fellow photojournalist focused on editorial and international stories, Ian shoots gorgeous and emotive photos but wanted to be able to attend his sister’s wedding and be there as her brother – not her photographer. But don’t worry – Ian was never far from his medium format camera feverishly swapping rolls of film before a priceless moment passed. Of course.
Jim and Abigail, thank you for having me there for your big day. You threw a fantastic party. Here’s to the memories!
